Rock Stars Perform Benefit Show for Production Staff
11/24/07
The
cast of U.S. TV show 30 Rock has performed a benefit show to raise money
for production staff who've been laid-off due to the ongoing Hollywood
writers strike.
Cast members including Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan and Jane
Krakowski took the stage of a small New York theatre on Monday (19Nov07)
to help their out-of-work colleagues.
Two hundred fans paid $20 (#10) each to watch the show, 30 Rock Live!,
which will air on U.S. television network NBC on 6 December (07).
Speaking about the strike, Fey says, "It's such a solvable
situation. Not only would I prefer to be working, but I would really like
our crew to be working."
Members of the Writers Guild Of America have been staging walk-outs
since 5 November (07) after talks between the union and studio
representatives failed to resolve a dispute over royalties.
