Britney Spears Police Escort for Coffee  11/29/07

Britney Spears had to be escorted out of a bookstore by Los Angeles police officers on Wednesday night (28Nov07), after causing pandemonium when she stopped off to buy a coffee.

The troubled pop superstar was followed into Barnes and Noble book shop by a throng of paparazzi as she made her way to the Starbucks at the back of the store - and was forced to take refuge in the cafe's kitchen and toilets as she waited for her order, reports TMZ.

And Spears had to call upon local authorities to ensure her safety as crowds of fans gathered in the store to get a glimpse of their idol.

She eventually made it safely back to her car after being escorted out of the shop by eight L.A. officers - with coffee in hand.
