Beyonce Knowles Eyes Glastonbury Slot After Jay-Z Triumph 11/11/08

R&B superstar Beyonce Knowles is desperate to headline legendary U.K. music festival Glastonbury - after her husband JAY-Z's triumphant performance at this year's (08) event.

The 99 Problems rapper took to the festival's main stage in June (08) amid a flurry of criticism of Glastonbury organizers for booking a hip-hop artist to perform at a rock-orientated event.

However, Jay-Z silenced his critics by playing a rousing set, thrilling thousands of fans and winning acclaim from music critics. And Knowles, who married the hip-hop heavyweight in a secret ceremony in April (08), watched her beau perform backstage and was stunned by the atmosphere.

She tells Britain's Sky News, "I was there to experience the energy, it was like something I have never experienced before. "I thought it was brilliant.

Jay had all the controversy - but he came out and he did good." And when quizzed whether she would consider performing at the festival, Knowles adds, "It would be really amazing... I would love to do it."
