Ashlee Simpson Gets Another Chance on Saturday Night Live  10/3/05

Ashlee Simpson will have the chance to redeem her vocal reputation with another performance on hit US comedy show Saturday Night Live this weekend (08OCT05).

The singer has faced almost a full year of ridicule and backlash, after a widely publicized blunder on the show, when she held her microphone at waist level while a pre-recorded version of her hit Pieces of Me was played.

After the incident in October 2004, Simpson has expressed her desire to return to the live show, and her chance will come on Saturday, when she performs during an episode hosted by Napolean Dynamite star Jon Heder.

Simpson has also written a song called Beautifully Broken about the incident.

She says, "The song is about it's okay to mess up, that it's okay to do bad. It's very normal, actually."
