Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey Split Reports Resurface  10/5/05

Newlyweds show couple Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are desperately fighting fresh reports that their marriage is over, after The Dukes of Hazzard actress turned up solo and without her wedding ring to two recent events.

The couple's marriage has been at the center of speculation for months, but the pop stars have stood firm with rebuttals.

But, now America's Us Weekly insists the couple have split.

In a joint statement on behalf of the Lachey's, a representative says. "Nick and Jessica have not separated. Rumors to the contrary are simply not true."

The pair were last seen together publicly on 11 September (05) when they sang a duet at an American football game.

According to the magazine, rumours of a split started to circulate again when Jessica arrived solo at her sister Ashlee's 21st birthday in Las Vegas, Nevada at the weekend (02OCT05).

If the top couple are due to celebrate their third wedding anniversary on 26 October (05).
