Robbie Williams enjoyed seeing England soccer captain David Beckham in a fit of nerves moments before his performance at the London leg of Live 8 this summer (02JUL05), because it made him realise he wasn't the only one dreading taking the stage.

The Angels singer admits he was anxious about performing at the charity super gig in the British capital's Hyde Park, which was screened to millions of TV viewers around the globe.

But Williams' nerves were calmed by the sight of Beckham feeling the pressure backstage just before the sports star introduced him to the audience.

He jokes, "I did take a sadistic pleasure in the fact that he was s**tting it.

"If the captain of England was nervous, then it was OK for me to be."
