Bloom Shows His Generous Side on Oprah
10/6/05
Movie hunk Orlando Bloom served up the strangest gift when he visited
Oprah Winfrey's daily talk show recently - a dog collar and leash.
The Lord of
the Rings star fell in love with leather goods store Leatherhead while
shooting new movie Elizabethtown
in Louisville, Kentucky and spent a fortune on gifts for himself, his pet
dog and friends before he left town.
And when he heard he'd be making his debut on OPRAH, he picked up a
special gift for the media mogul and her beloved pet dog.
He said, "It's a little personal, but these leashes are handmade, hand stitched."
And Bloom wasn't finished with the gift giving - he asked Winfrey to
help him locate a Louisville Hurricane Katrina evacuee who lost her Lord
of The Rings collection in the August (05) storm, so he could take her to
the premiere of Elizabethtown.
Bloom thrilled the super fan, called Jessica, by showing up on her
doorstep with Guess clothing vouchers and signed Lord of The Rings goodies
to replace her lost keepsakes.
The British star admitted he was thrilled to be able to give something
back to a fan who has helped make his life amazing.
He said, "One of the things that I'm learning really quickly is
when you have so much good fortune in life the best thing you can do and
the most rewarding thing you can do is just to give it back in some
way."
