American Pie star Shannon Elizabeth believes Matthew McConaughey would be great boyfriend material, because she's certain her dogs would love him.

The animal-loving actress recently filed for divorce from her husband Joseph D Reitman, and she admits that McConaughey's background - his love for riding around in his trailer and his ruggedness - would be a hit with her beloved pets.

She says, "Boomer and Yoda are my two male dogs that are the men in my life.

He is from Texas, I'm from Texas as well. (The dogs) love to get out of the house and run. They would love the trailer.

"My dogs love dimples and a little scruff and guys from Texas."

McConaughey is currently dating Spanish actress Penelope Cruz.
