Sandra Bullock Recalls New York Mugging Horror  10/7/05

Sandra Bullock still has nightmares about her New York City mugging attack - and still can't believe she walked away from it unscathed.

The actress was a struggling waitress when she was approached by a gun-wielding junkie, who demanded she hand over her cash.

She recalls, "I'd finished witnessing and I had my tips in a little fanny pack.

"He was on something, I realized it and I was like, 'If I just turn and walk away back towards the restaurant the cute bartender that I liked at the time of course will save me.'

"I just walked and I kept thinking, 'Just don't shoot me in the spine.' It was stupid but I think I knew enough about his mannerisms; he was just as scared as I was."
