Mariah Carey refused to leave her dog in New York City when he was refused a seat on a flight to Los Angeles - she dispatched her chauffeur to drive Jack the Jack Russell 3,000 miles across America.

The Butterfly beauty was left speechless when the airline she was flying first class with refused Jack a berth "because he's too big" - and was amazed staff said they would have made an exception for a "famous" pooch.

She says, "They said, 'We'd only allow it for a famous dog.' Please! He has three websites dedicated to him."

But Carey, who hates to be separated from her pet Jack Russell, was soon re-united with her pet in Los Angeles.
