Oprah Winfrey Eyes Kentucky Derby  10/13/05

Oprah Winfrey has reportedly hatched plans to raise a Kentucky Derby-winning racehorse on her sprawling California property. 

The billionaire talk show host recently snapped up a property, which includes land and stables next to her $51 million Montecito estate, and sources say she hopes to raise prize-winning horses on it. 

A neighbor says, "She told me it's been a dream of hers to own a racehorse that wins the Derby. She said she's won a lot of awards, but being in the winner's circle at the Derby would be like the icing on the cake. "She said she's always loved horses, from when she was a little girl."
