Sexy actress Angelina Jolie has helped boost young budding artists in Africa, after buying a handful of their paintings during a visit to a Canadian bar.

While visiting her beau Brad Pitt in Calgary on 8 October (05), the Tomb Raider beauty stopped by the Auburn Saloon to see an exhibit of artwork by Ghana's impoverished children.

After learning that the proceeds would be used to help build the children a school, Jolie purchased five paintings.

The owner of the bar says, "Angelina is so sweet. She even let her kids pick out some of the paintings that she bought. I thought that was really loving."
