Robert De Niro Was Really Waiting for Bananarama  10/17/05

British girl band Bananarama were left in shock when Hollywood icon Robert De Niro asked to meet them after they released their hit single Robert De Niro's Waiting in 1984. The Shy Boy hitmakers were so nervous about seeing Raging Bull actor De Niro in the flesh, they sank several drinks at a bar before being taken to spend time with the screen legend. 

Singer Karen Woodward  says, "Actors don't do it for me. Robert De Niro rang and asked us out once. We said yes, but we were very shy and had to get slightly drunk before we met him." SARA Dallin adds, "The De Niro story seems so unlikely, but it happened. I don't know which of us he fancied!"
