Nicole Richie: "Weight Loss Nothing to Do With Wedding"  10/24/05

The Simple  Life star Nicole Richie insists her dramatic weight loss has nothing to do with the stress of her forthcoming wedding to Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein.

The 24-year-old's alarmingly skinny frame hit the headlines this summer (05), amongst rumors she was suffering from an eating disorder.

Her singer father Lionel Ritchie went public to insist his daughter did not have a health problem, and instead suggested her concerning weight drop was caused by the pressure of her upcoming marriage.

But socialite denies her father's story, telling Jane magazine, "But that's not even what's happening. I don't know why (my dad) said that. I think what he meant to say is, like, if you're doing a million things, obviously you eat less.

"Nothing people say really bothers me, but that bothers me because I wouldn't want somebody younger than me, someone who looks up to me, to believe it."
