Actress Keira Knightley is desperate for an Oscar nomination after receiving critical acclaim for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice.

The 20-year-old beauty proved her critics wrong with a critically-acclaimed performance in the hit film adaptation of the Jane Austen classic romance, which spent three weeks at the top of the UK box office.

She says, "I can't deny that it would be lovely to be nominated, but I've just started in this business and there will be other, better-known actresses coming in films that haven't opened yet."
