"Reverend Run" Simmons Hospital Room Funeral for Daughter  10/2/06

Run-DMC founder Joseph 'Reverend Run' Simmons bid farewell to his dead baby daughter in a simple hospital room funeral, just hours after she passed away.

Victoria Anne Simmons died last Tuesday (26SEP06) at a hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey. She was reportedly born with organs outside of her body. She passed away a short time after the birth.

Simmons and wife Justine reveal a simple ceremony to mark her death was carried out in the same room she was born.

The rapper tells the New York Daily News, "Right there in the hospital room, Bishop E Bernard Jordan prayed over the baby and gave a sermon.

"The funeral director came, too. That's how we did it. We prayed for acceptance. It's painful, okay? But you don't get mad at God. Acceptance is purifying."

The couple already has five children.
