5/29/07
A FORMER BOXING CHAMPION MOM WHO RUNS HER HOME LIKE AN OLYMPIC COACH
SWAPS WITH A WIFE WHO CHAMPIONS RELAXATION AND COMPETITIVE EATING, ON
ABC'S "WIFE SWAP" San Diego Charger Lorenzo Neal Adds a
"Twist" to the Show "Alcorn/Booker"---This week a
former undefeated champion boxer who runs her home like an Olympic coach
swaps with a mother who champions relaxation and competitive eating, on
"Wife Swap," MONDAY, JUNE 4 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC
Television Network. (Rebroadcast. OAD 10/9/06)
Each week from across the country, two families with very different
values are chosen to take part in a two-week long challenge. The wives
from these two families exchange husbands, children and lives (but not
bedrooms) to discover just what it's like to live another woman's life.
It's a mind-blowing experiment that often ends up changing their lives
forever.
Californians Jenifer Alcorn (35), her husband, Brad (44), and their
three children -- Jessie (13), Hailey (12) and Cade (9) -- stick to a
fighter's fat-free diet and are required to live up to their potential or
face the consequences. Jenifer is a former undefeated champion boxer and
now spends her days throwing her weight around the ring while training
cage fighters. Jenifer applies her tough training techniques to her
mothering skills as well; she is a fierce watchdog who pushes her kids to
meet her expectations, no ifs ands or buts. When it comes to the kids
playing sports, they'd better bring their A-game or go home losers. Brad
is a fierce and disciplined homicide detective who helps his wife train in
the ring while also training the kids to be well-behaved winners.
Jenifer travels to New York where Regina (40) husband Eric (37) and son
Brandon (13) spend their free time laying around the house or laying down
hip hop tracks. Eric is a competitive eating champion who once ate 9.5
lbs. of peas in 12 minutes and dreams of winning the nation's most
prestigious hot dog eating contest. Regina and Brandon love nothing more
than training Eric for the big eating events, and training happens around
the clock. Whether it's downing hotdogs to the tick of a stopwatch or
eating fast food in front of the TV as a family, it's all part of the
Booker commitment to more food, more fun and more relaxation.
In the first week of the swap, Regina Booker trades in her high heels
for sneakers and tries to fill Jenifer's sparring gloves by rigorously
training herself and Jen's clients; her goal -- to make it to the weekly
Alcorn women's backyard fight night. Meanwhile, Jen has to cook up six to
ten heads of cabbage for Eric to consume in record time and pick his dirty
clothes up off of the floor while he naps on the couch. In the second week
of the swap, when the wives change the rules and turn the tables, Jen
gives an uppercut to the Bookers' gluttonous ways and brings in her buddy,
San Diego Charger Lorenzo Neal, to help her challenge Eric about his
weight and deadly eating habits in an attempt to save his life. Meanwhile,
Regina tries to teach the rigid Alcorns about letting go and having fun,
but it's not as easy as she thought. Under Regina's new system, the Alcorn
kids are forced to do a group hug every time they break the rules -- which
is every day.
At the end of the swap, when the couples are reunited, will they find
common ground? Or will they discover their differences run too deep?
