Sara Evans' Husband Hits Back at Allegations  10/18/06

The estranged husband of country singer Sara Evans has hit back at accusations of adultery and inappropriate conduct, and plans to vigorously defend himself.

Evans filed for divorce from Craig Schelske last week (ends15OCT06) and announced her shock departure from hit US reality competition Dancing With the Stars.

Schelske tells American publication People, "I cannot explain why Sara is waging a false media campaign, but I intend to defend myself in court and protect my children as best I can."

In court papers, Evans claims Schelske had an affair with Alison Clinton, her friend and the former nanny to her children.

A source close to Schelske says, "Craig is going to drop a bombshell this week. He will be telling his side of the story."

Evans made a statement on Dancing With The Stars last night (18OCT06) to explain her departure from the show.
