Madonna Adoption Influenced by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt?  10/23/06

Pop superstar Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie were reportedly persuaded to adopt a child from Africa by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Jolie and Pitt suggested the couple look for a child in Africa, rather than choose one from the US, reports British newspaper the Sunday Express.

Madonna and Ritchie had undergone an evaluation by a Californian adoption agency, but abandoned plans after Jolie, whose daughter Zahara is from Africa, advised her to rescue a child from a life of hardship.

A source says, "Both Brad and Angelina sold Madonna and Guy on the idea of creating a global family like theirs by taking kids out of Third World poverty."

Madonna and Ritchie were granted interim adoption of 13-month-old David Banda in Malawi last Tuesday (17OCT06).
