“LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O’BRIEN” TO BROADCAST ENTIRE EPISODE IN
“SKELEVISION” ON HALLOWEEN, TUESDAY, OCT. 31
Cutting Edge Late Night Show To Broadcast An All-Skeleton Episode
“This may be the finest hour of television NBC has ever produced …
with skeletons,” says O’Brien
NEW YORK – October 23, 2006 – In an unprecedented move, NBC's
"Late Night with Conan O'Brien" will broadcast an entire episode
in "skelevision." The entire episode of "Late Night"
will be populated entirely with skeletons. The experimental and
groundbreaking episode airs Tuesday, October 31 (12:35 AM – 1:35 AM on
NBC).
"This may be the finest hour of television NBC has ever
produced...with skeletons," noted O'Brien.
The show is a complete re-creation of an episode of "Late
Night" from May 2006. From the monologue, to the comedy sketches and
guests, no living humans will be featured in the show – just skeletons.
Guests on the episode are Larry King, actor Omar Epps
("House") and actress and pole-dancing workout instructor Sheila
Kelley (complete with demonstration). In addition, the show features Will
Arnett in the show's signature "In the Year 2000" segment.
This isn't the first time "Late Night" has creatively tweaked
its format in its thirteen-year history. It has broadcast from the Circle
Line boat cruise around Manhattan, done an entire show in clay animation,
retooled the show as an infomercial, shot a last minute 15-minute show
opening during New York's 2003 Blackout with nothing but reserve power and
its most recent and talked about format break – the hour-long travelogue
to Finland.
"Late Night with Conan O'Brien" is from NBC Studios in
association with Broadway Video. Lorne Michaels and Jeff Ross are the
executive producers. Allan Kartun directs. Mike Sweeney is head writer.
