Father: "I Will Not Oppose Madonna Adoption"  10/26/06

The father of the 13-month-old Malawian boy adopted by Madonna has confirmed he will not oppose the pop superstar's adoption.

Earlier this week (begs23OCT06), Yohane Banda claimed he had no idea he was sending his son David "away for good".

However, the poverty-stricken 32-year-old wants the best for his boy and, despite still insisting the adoption procedure was never properly explained to him, he has given his blessing to Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie.

Yohane says, "I'll be killing his future if I do (oppose the adoption). I don't want my child, who is already gone, to come back."

Madonna and Ritchie will be monitored during an interim adoption period over the next 18 months.
