TV Show Lands Painful Anna Nicole Smith Exclusive  10/31/06

US news show Entertainment Tonight has scooped a world exclusive by landing Anna Nicole Smith's first interview since the death of her son Daniel and the birth of her baby daughter Dannielynn.

Reporter Mark Steines was invited to Smith's Bahamian compound over the weekend (28-29OCT06) to chat with the actress/model and her partner, attorney Howard K Stern.

Steines reveals that fear of the paparazzi has turned the busty blonde into a virtual recluse inside her Nassau home.

In a blog on the Entertainment Tonight website, he writes: "There are absolutely no signs of life on the outside. I would come to learn that the fear of constant paparazzi keeps Anna and her support team locked up, blinds drawn, and constantly aware that prying eyes are trying to snap photos.

"There is a pool no one uses, gardens no one visits and terraces no one stands on to take in the very warm night air. Anna and her baby live pretty much like prisoners inside this home."

Steines insists Smith is a changed woman - and nothing like the bubbly blonde he'd interviewed in the past.

He adds, "She seemed calmer, sadder, a bit of a broken bird, yet she looked quite beautiful."

The TV presenter also reveals Smith remained composed throughout the interview but "crumbles like a house of cards, tears pouring out of her eyes"

when the chat turns to the death of her 20-year-old son last month (SEP06).

The interview will air on Thursday (02NOV06).
