American journalist Rita Cosby is facing new allegations of falsehoods in
her expose on Anna Nicole Smith - after two of the actress' former nannies
claim rumors of a gay affair between Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead
did not stem from them, as claimed in her book.
Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith's Death has
attracted controversy over its claims Stern and Birkhead - who is the
father of Smith's daughter Dannielynn - were lovers, with Stern filing a
$60 million lawsuit against the author last Tuesday (02Oct07) over the
"false allegations". Birkhead has also announced his intentions
to sue.
Cosby's book says the nannies, accompanied by a lawyer, told a private
investigator that Smith liked to sit in bed and watch a tape of Birkhead
and Stern having sex.
But an attorney acting on behalf of Quethlie Alexis and Nadine Alexie
insists the pair are wrongly attributed as the source of the rumors.
Attorney Elizabeth Thompson tells the New York Daily News, "They
don't know one way or another if it happened.
"We have a number of sources. We have it attributed directly to a
private investigator who specifically said that."
Cosby denies the allegations she fabricated the pair's relationship,
claiming Birkhead and Stern were deliberately using the lawsuit as a
publicity stunt.
Smith died earlier this year (07) following an accidental overdose.
