Veteran rockers The Police have disappointed fans after they were forced
to cancel two shows in the U.K.
The newly-reformed band have postponed two gigs in Manchester, England
this week (ends21Oct07) after bassist/singer Sting - real name Gordon
Sumner - fell ill with a throat infection last week (begs08Oct07).
A spokesperson for the star says, "Sting is suffering from a
throat infection, which has forced the band to postpone concerts. We hope
to have a rescheduling announcement shortly."
The Police pulled performances in Antwerp, Belgium and Mannheim,
Germany on 9 and 10 October (07) due to Sting's illness.
The gigs are part of a reunion world tour that kicked off in May (07) -
21 years after the band's last major live performance.
