Britney Spears is turning to special lollipops and asthma inhalers in a
desperate bid to lose weight, according to reports.
With less than a month to go before the release of her comeback album
Blackout, Spears is keen to slim down so she looks her best for
promotional appearances.
According to Britain's Heat magazine, Spears has taken to sucking
special Hoodia lollies, which tricks her brain into thinking she is full;
as well as a chemical found in asthma medication.
A doctor warns Heat that the lollies could cause mood swings, lower
Spears'
blood sugar levels and rise her blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
Doctor Halle Mir, from Los Angeles' Cedars Sinai Hospital, also warns
against the use of an inhaler, saying: "If she's using it as a
weight-loss tool, she's probably relying on epinephrine, which could
suppress her appetite. She's risking damage to her lungs and heart. She
could even bring on asthmatic symptoms."
