Carrie Underwood has again denied reports she's dating American football star Tony Romo, although the pair are so close the country star admits they talk to each other every day.

The American Idol winner and Dallas Cowboys star Romo have been rumored to be dating since December 2006, but Underwood insists they're just good friends who have a lot in common.

She says, "We're very good friends, and I talk to him pretty much every day, whether it's a text or whatever. But we were never, like, dating. 

"We hang out. We like doing the same things, and we come from similar backgrounds, and we both stumbled into big fame real fast. So we understand where each other is coming from.
