Ben Affleck is at the centre of a new booze controversy after the movie star was spotted toasting his directorial debut with Guinness and white wine.

Affleck, who entered Promises rehab centre in California to seek treatment for an alcohol problem in 2001, was spotted guzzling Guinness at the Mystic Celt restaurant and bar in Chicago, Illinois after the city's premiere of Gone Baby Gone last week (10Oct07).

The diner eatery's owner, Eamonn Vaughan, tells Life & Style magazine, "Ben was drinking Guinness."

And the actor/director was spotted drinking wine later in the evening at the city's Four Seasons hotel bar, where he was joined by brother Casey.

An eyewitness, who allegedly saw Affleck drinking three glasses of wine, tells the publication, "He was very chatty. He was the last person to leave the lounge - his friend literally dragged him away."
