U2 front man Bono has been honored by Alicia Keys for his charity work at
an Aids fundraiser in New York.
The Black Ball event, which was also attended by Gwen
Stefani and Sheryl Crow, is held to raise money for the Keep A Child
Alive foundation which provides treatment to Aids victims in Africa.
Singer Alicia Keys, who co-founded the charity, described the rocker as
"an amazing man (who) works tirelessly at really having a cause and
fighting for it".
She adds, "He is an inspiration and single-handedly made it cool
to have something to speak about."
Bono was proud to accept the award but insisted he would rather be
giving out the honors.
He says, "Rock stars always want to do two things. They want to
have fun and change the world. If they can do both at the same time,
you're okay."
