Britney Spears does her best to ignore the "cruel" coverage of
her troubled private life by going about her daily business as if the
paparazzi weren't there.
The Toxic singer, who is currently embroiled in a child custody battle
with ex-husband Kevin Federline, insists she doesn't pay any attention to
the tabloid media.
In a radio interview with Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday
(31Oct07), Spears said, "I try not to let it get to me. People talk.
You just try to keep doing what you do and, as long as you know what's up,
and you know what's true, then that's all that really matters.
"I guess people say what they want and do what they do. It's sad
how cruel people can be.
"At the end of the day, you've just got to know in your heart that
you're doing the best that you can and that's basically it."
When asked whether she is trying her best to be a good mother to her
sons, Spears replied, "Oh God, yeah."
