Eva Longoria Won't Get Engaged at the Eiffel Tower Like "Cheesy" Tom Cruise  9/1/05

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria insists she and boyfriend Tony Parker won't be following Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' example when they visit the Eiffel Tower this month (SEP05) by getting engaged - because the move was "cheesy."

Cruise famously proposed to Holmes at the French landmark earlier this summer (05) and gossips suspect Longoria and Parker will become the next couple to use the romantic tower as the backdrop to an engagement.

But Longoria tells US magazine In Touch, "That sort of thing is not Tony at all. It's cheesy."

But, after months of speculation about her romance with French-born basketball star Parker, Longoria insists he's "the one".

She says, "I'll shout it from a mountain top... He's the one. We've even talked about kids. He'd be a great dad.

"We've been dating nine months and I'm very happy."
