Lonely Marcia Cross Snubbed Star Trappings 9/2/05

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross refused to accept limousine rides before her recent engagement to Tom Mahoney, because she found the glitzy ride too lonely by herself. 

The fiery redhead, who plays Bree in the hit TV show, was plagued by rumors that she was a lesbian before she announced her upcoming wedding to financial adviser Mahoney last month (AUG05). And Cross' new found love has renewed her taste for the trappings of fame - and she is now more than happy to show off her beau in a luxury limousine when she arrives at celebrity events. 

The 43-year-old says, "Whenever I was asked to glamorous events, I'd always say, 'Don't send a limo - I'll drive there myself.' "There's nothing worse than sitting in a limo all by yourself... I'd rather just get in my truck and show up with no fuss."
