Nelly Sends Help to Hurricane Victims  9/14/05

Hip-hop star Nelly has sent two 18-wheeler trucks loaded with supplies, clothing, toiletries and financial donations to America's hurricane-affected region.

Most of the donations came from a fundraising and clothing drive he held in the rapper's hometown of St Louis, Missouri.

Nelly tells MTV News, "Everyone came out. It was unbelievable."

Nelly has also signed up to headline a benefit concert with David Banner in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday (17SEP05), with Ti,Young Jeezy, Twista and others, through Banner's Heal the Hood Foundation.

Nelly adds of Banner, "He's been affected personally, and he's also a good friend of mine. We're working on a few other things. I think people will be working on this through the year. I don't think we'll see anybody slow up."
