Britney Spears Gives Grants to Hurricane Relief Efforts  9/20/05

New mother Britney Spears is awarding two grants from her foundation to assist in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

One grant will go to Habitat For Humanity to support Operation Home Delivery, a long-term rebuilding plan for families along America's Gulf Coast affected by the disaster, reports MTV News.

The other donation will be handed over to the East Baton Rouge Parish School System in Louisiana for school supplies, transportation and other materials which can be used to help ease the financial burdens placed on their educational establishment, which are taking in up to 7,000 displaced New Orleans students.

Spears, who gave birth to her son Sean Preston on Wednesday (14SEP05), is a native of Louisiana.
