Clay Aiken Once Had a Pet Goat  9/28/05

American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken had an unusual pet in his home as a child - a goat.

The singer, who grew up in North Carolina, says Zoe wasn't his pet for "too long", but he refuses to reveal the creature's fate, for fear of being targeted by the People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA).

He says, "I had a pet goat when I was a kid; not a prize-winning goat... I'm not going to say (what happened to her), I don't think PETA would be too thrilled.

"I did not do anything to the goat. The goat should not have lived in my backyard, let's just say that."
