Simon Cowell Duped by Boy Band Signed to His Own Label  9/11/06

The boy band who duped Simon Cowell on British TV show The X Factor are actually signed to SonyBMG, the label which Cowell is contracted to.

Cowell and fellow X Factor judges Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Paula Abdul yesterday (09SEP06) discovered five-piece Avenue made it through to the second stage of the talent show despite already having a record deal - a clear breach of competition rules.
