The Beach is Back - Laguna Beach Season 2 DVD  9/11/06

New season, new rich kids, new drama – this DVD set is a must have for fans of the MTV dramality series.   ‘ Laguna Beach ’ follows the privileged teens of this super-elite OC enclave through the ups and downs, relatively speaking, of their daily lives.  Most of the cast from season one show up only for the occasional cameo; this season belongs to Kristin Cavallari, the narrator with no shame, who hooks up with friends’ boyfriends, uses and abuses her ex Stephen, and unabashedly bashes her rival mean girls.  Kristin’s antics could be enough to fuel the season all on their own, but her neighbors don’t let her steal the show: Alex and Jessica align themselves with Kristin, but Morgan and Casey form the opposition.  Meanwhile Stephen, Talan and new ‘bad boy’ Jason enjoy playing both sides against the middle as the drama intensifies.

MTV has managed once again to create addictively irresistible entertainment.  Viewers will be drawn in to the world of these rich, attractive looking people for an insider’s view on how they live and play.  Perhaps the attraction is the insight that the elite really do have many of the same problems, doubts and insecurities as the rest of us; or perhaps it lies in seeing the fascinating plethora of resources these folks have at their disposal for handling any disappointment or inconvenience they might encounter.
