Nicole
Kidman's Rome Row
9/11/06
Nicole Kidman reportedly sparked a row in Rome, Italy, when a film crew
angered residents by attempting to shoot a TV commercial in the Testaccio
district of the city without any warning.
The Australian actress jetted in from London to film an ad for Sky
Italia recently, but producers had to hand over $30,000 to locals before
filming could get underway.
Residents woke the find their narrow streets blocked by TV vans and
equipment, and many lost their tempers when they were told to stay
indoors.
When producers were denied access to a key block of flats, they were
left with no choice but to make the cash payments.
Resident's spokesperson Luigi Prosperi tells British newspaper the
Daily Mirror, "No one had informed us. The first we knew was when we
woke up to find the streets clogged."
