Anna Nicole Smith Had to be Sedated After Son's Death  9/14/06

Anna Nicole Smith had to be sedated after her son Daniel died by her bedside on Sunday (10SEP06), because she refused to accept he had passed away.

The 20-year-old was visiting his mother on Sunday (10SEP06) in hospital, three days after she gave birth to his half-sister in the Bahamas.

And the former Playboy Playmate was so shocked by the tragedy, she suffered temporary memory loss and had to be informed of Daniel's death by her lawyer.

Attorney Michael Scott says, "The devastation and grief over Daniel's sudden death coupled with the sedation has been so extreme that Anna Nicole experienced memory loss of the event.

"Anna Nicole was so distraught at the loss of Daniel that she refused to leave his side and it was necessary to sedate her in order to check her out of the hospital."

And Scott also reveals that another Smith lawyer, Howard K Stern, was in the hospital room with his client when her son died in front of them.

Scott adds, "It was necessary for Howard to tell Anna again that Daniel had passed away."
