GOING ON A MURDEROUS SHOOTING SPREE IS RE-OPENED WHEN EVIDENCE SURFACES
THAT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A THIRD SHOOTER, ON THE FOURTH SEASON PREMIERE OF
"COLD CASE," SUNDAY, SEPT. 24
"Rampage" -- The 1995 case involving two teenage boys who
committed suicide after going on a murderous rampage at the local mall is
re-opened when evidence shows there may have been a third shooter, on the
fourth season premiere of COLD CASE, Sunday, Sept. 24 (9:00-10:00 PM,
ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Mark Pellington directed the episode
that was written by Executive Producer Veena Sud.
When a video tape of the shooting is discovered hidden in an air vent
in the mall, Lilly and the team see that the third shooter managed to
leave the crime scene pretending to be a survivor. Now, Lilly and the team
must retrace the lives of the teenage boys and the events that led up to
that fateful day, and re-interview all of the survivors.
COLD CASE is a drama about Lilly Rush (Morris), a lone female detective
in the Philadelphia homicide squad, who finds her niche when she's
assigned to "cold cases" -- crimes that have never been solved.
Previously, she used her instinctive understanding of the criminal mind on
current murders. Now, she's interrogating witnesses of yester-crimes whose
lives and circumstances have since changed, making use of today's new
science and finding fresh clues to solve cases that were previously
unsolvable -- all of which appeals to this smart, driven detective. She's
also prepared for the consequences -- that her work will open up old
wounds and may lead suspects to commit new crimes.
When she hits a dead end, Rush seeks advice from her respected mentor,
Lt. John Stillman. Also on the team are Det. Scotty Valens Rush's arrogant
partner; Det. Will Jeffries who's been around long enough to serve as
Lilly's link to the past, Det. Nick Vera a tough cop who's considered the
go-to guy for getting a confession and Kat Miller the new girl on the team
who is eager to prove her worthiness. Now, Rush sees her new assignment as
a turning point in her career when she decides to make it her business to
make sure that no victim is ever forgotten.
COLD CASE is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television, in association
with Warner Bros. Productions and CBS Productions. Jerry Bruckheimer,
Jonathan Littman, Veena Sud and Meredith Stiehm are the executive
producers.
