Kylie Minogue's Praise for Parental Support During Cancer Battle 9/18/06

Pop superstar Kylie Minogue has credited her mother with giving her strength during her recent battle with cancer.

The I Can't Get You Out of My Head singer successfully underwent chemotherapy in Paris, France and was relieved her parents looked after her.

She says, "My relationship with my parents has always been close. My mother, in particular, has always been more like a friend to me.

"But when I was diagnosed, it was like they needed to be my mother and father again, not my friends. It was as if I was a little girl to them again.

"I was so lucky to have my mum with me in Paris throughout my treatment. I don't know how I would have got through that without her."
