Ashanti Settles With Ex Manager  9/20/06

Ashanti has agreed an undisclosed out-of-court settlement with the former producer who claims he helped launch her career.

A court ruled last year (05) Genard Parker - who worked with Ashanti when she was 15 - was owed a percentage of sales from her first three albums.

He sought $2.3 million and was awarded $630,00, but the 25-year-old singer appealed, her lawyers claiming Parker was owed just $50,000.

The pair has now reached an agreement - ending a new court battle that began in New York City on Monday (18SEP06) - and Ashanti says she is "very pleased" with the outcome.
