Shakira Leads Latin Grammys  9/27/06

Shakira looks set to be crowned queen of the upcoming Latin Grammy Awards this November (06) after landing six nominations this morning (26SEP06).

The Hips Don't Lie singer will fight it out for the Album Of The Year (Fijacion Oral, Vol 1) and Single Of The Year (La Tortura) prizes and the latter hit, a duet with Alejandro Sanz, is also up for Song and Record Of The Year.

The Colombian pop superstar will be homing this haul will serve her better than her last one - Shakira was nominated for seven gongs and won only one.

Others hoping for big awards at the Latin Grammys include Ricardo Arjona, rocker Gustavo Cerarti and Julieta Venegas, who each picked up four nominations.
