Russell Simmons Named Baby Girl Before She Died  9/28/06

Run-DMC founder Joseph 'Rev Run' Simmons has revealed he and his wife Justine named their baby daughter before she died on Tuesday (26SEP06) at a hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Simmons has released a statement, in which he insists he won't let the tragedy effect his faith and admitted the baby girl was named Victoria Anne Simmons.

He writes, "On September 26, 2006, Victoria Anne Simmons, for some unknown reason, chose to come early and unfortunately did not survive.

"We must accept whatever is there and once you accept unconditionally, then everything is beautiful. Every pain has a purifying effect. So whatever comes your way, just be thankful."

Little Victoria Anne was reportedly born with organs outside of its body. She died a short time after the birth.
