Anna Nicole's Ex Demands Paternity Test  9/28/06

The photojournalist claiming to be the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby daughter since June (06) has demanded a paternity test after pouring scorn on her lawyer Howard K Stern's announcement that he's the daddy.

Stern stunned America on Tuesday night (26SEP06) when he revealed he was the father of Smith's two-week-old baby Dannilynn Hope on CNN talk show Larry King Live.

But Larry Birkhead, who recently went public with his intentions to fight for custody of the baby after maintaining he's the father, rejects Stern's claims and is demanding DNA proof.

In a posting on his website yesterday (27SEP06), Birkhead wrote "I Am the Proud Father... The whole thing is laughable. It was obvious that even Larry King didn't believe what Howard K Stern was saying."

He tells American publication Us Weekly, "I have asked for a DNA test and I welcome it."

Although there is no word on whether his wish will be granted, Birkhead is already confident of the outcome adding, "I am in good spirits this morning because I know I am the father of the child.

"I look forward to having a relationship with my new daughter."
