The bodyguard keen to testify against Britney Spears in her ongoing child
custody battle was sacked for failing to pick up the pop star's hat.
Tony Barretto appeared briefly in court on Monday (17Sep07) after a
declaration on his behalf was filed by high-profile attorney Gloria Allred.
Allred told reporters her client had information alleging "nudity,
drug use and safety issues post-rehab" important to the custody
battle between his former boss and her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The bodyguard testified the troubled singer regularly used drugs in
front of her two young sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.
Allred said her client had been prepared to testify under oath in
family court but neither the judge nor Britney's attorneys chose to
cross-examine him.
The lawyer said Barretto, who is a father himself, chose to come
forward because he became very "concerned" for the welfare of
Spears' young sons while working for her earlier this year (07).
He claims he started working for the singer in March (07), upon her
release from rehab, and he was fired on 17 May (07) when he misheard an
order to pick up Spears' hat.
