Britney Spears pop comeback has been given a huge boost - her new single
is a big hit on American top 40 radio stations.
Despite the harsh criticism of her performance of Gimme More at the MTV Video Music Awards on 9 September (07), fans want to hear more. The single has jumped into the top 20 of the Radio Top 40 chart for the first time since Every Time was a hit in 2004. According to Billboard.com, Gimme More is Spears' 16th charting title this decade, tying her with fellow former Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera for most by a female in that span. Meanwhile, the single has jumped from 25 to 16 on the Billboard Pop 100 Airplay chart.
