Ben Affleck's feature film directorial debut has been given a boost - the
movie has earned him a Breakthrough Director prize.
The film, Gone Baby Gone, has been hit with controversy recently after
it's U.K. cinema release was shelved because the plot is similar to the
real-life abduction of British four-year-old Madeline McCann.
But Affleck is bouncing back from the unfortunate controversy after
hearing he's be awarded the new director prize at the upcoming Hollywood
Film Festival (22Oct07).
Fellow Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly will also be handed an actress
prize as part of the festival.
