Brad Pitt in Talks to Play Mark Wahlberg's Brother in Boxing Film  9/22/07 

 

Brad Pitt is set to replace pal Matt Damon in a new movie about Boston, Massachusetts boxer `Irish' Mickey Ward.

Pitt is reportedly in negotiations to play Ward's brother, Dick Ecklund, in the film, Fighter, which will star Mark Wahlberg as the fighter.

Ecklund, himself a talented fighter who sparred with champs like Sugar Ray Leonard, turn his back on a life of crime to help his brother claim glory in the ring. Damon was originally slated to play Ecklund.
