Survivor China Episode 2 - "Pinned"  9/28/07

By Marcus

This episode of Survivor China reminded me of a grudge match situation between two members of the lackluster Zhan Hu Tribe. Zhan Hu means "Fighting Tiger." But rather than focusing their energy on fighting against the Fei Long Tribe ("Flying Dragon"), the tigers have turned on one another like hungry piranha.

Within the tiger tribe were two major competitors. In one corner we have Ashley Massaro the professional WWE wrestler. She is known in those circles as having perfected "The Monkey Flip" to finish off her opponents. But in this survivor China arena, she mostly verbally flips off the others while stroking her two lower lip mouth rings. And there is on going voyeur discussion about her endowment---that is, natural versus implants.

In the other corner is bartender and former male model Dave Cruser who has taken the reigns as the boss of the tribe. He gets off on telling others what to do. He is so myopic that he prevented the tribe from cooking rice in order to complete his fire pit. And that lack of food was evident as he staggered about like a falling down drunk in the immunity challenge. Which, by the way, the Tigers lost.

The battle between the wrestler and the model had its final match at tribal council. Who would have their torch extinguished? The tribe pinned the wrestler and give the model one more chance. Can Dave step up smartly and change his bossiness? Can he become the leader that the floundering tigers need? My prediction is that Dave will not last much longer while elementary school teacher Sherea slowly is recognized as the real leader of Zhan Hu.
