Other Driver In Shia LaBeouf Crash Charged With Lying To Police 9/30/08

Latest: The occupants of the car Shia LaBeouf collided with in July (08) have been charged with giving police false information.

The actor's truck flipped twice after hitting a car driven by Simon Herbert in West Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Herbert has since been blamed for the accident; police claim he ran a red light.

He and passenger Kimberly Bent have been charged with one count each of giving false information to a police officer.

Reports suggest Herbert and Bent misled police about who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash. Bent told the authorities she was driving, but investigators suspect Simon was in control of the car.

Last week (ends26Sep08), LeBeouf learned he would not be charged for a DUI related to the crash. Officials at the Los Angeles District Attorney's office have refused to follow up suspicions the Transformers star had been drinking before the accident due to insufficient evidence. Investigators had previously determined that LaBeouf was not at fault for the wreck.
